On Friday, 2-20-09, we expierenced a problem at one of Overton county Elem. schools with the HVAC unit. The gas regulator was installed too close to the exhaust on the unit, causing the plastic plug to melt and having a blow torch effect on the unit. Luckily we were at the the school doing maint. on kitchen equipment and able to turn the gas off, resulting in damage to the unit only, if it would have been after hours we would have lost the building. These unit were installed by CHC of Cookeville, TN. CHC is working with us in solving the problem. I thought this might help prevent other schools from having this problem.
