About the Tennessee School Plant Management Association
The Tennessee School Plant Management Association is an association of school facility planners, maintenance and operations supervisors, and other persons who have administrative supervisory positions in the area of school facilities, public or private, to include the college and university level.
The TSPMA is directed by an Executive Committee consisting of a President, President-elect, Executive Director/Secretary, Treasurer, Eight Directors, the Past President, Consultants from the State Department of Education and Two Sponsor Representatives.
TSPMA provides a means by which school facility personnel can increase their knowledge of school plant planning, maintenance and operation. Periodic district meetings and the annual state conference join school facility personnel with experts in the various physical plant areas to share ideas and problems and work together in finding economical solutions.
Our membership is open to school facility personnel for a yearly cost of $60.00.
As a member of TSPMA we believe that:
- School facilities should be planned and constructed with economical operation and maintenance as a primary goal.
- School plant maintenance and operation departments should be funded adequately so preventive maintenance and planned, timely, equipment retrofits and building renovation programs can be established.
- School facilities should be operated in the most economical and efficient manner to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all students, faculty and staff.
- A continuing program of upgrading school facility personnel through education and training is absolutely necessary to properly maintain and operate school facilities.
The membership of the TSPMA has the knowledge and experience to provide consultation, evaluation and recommendations to school districts in the area of school facility planning, maintenance and operation.
